Atlantic Red Crab Cakes

1 pound Atlantic red crab meat, picked through for shells

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 egg, beaten

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 green onions, finely chopped

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil, for frying


Prepare the Crab Cakes Mixture:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Atlantic red crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, beaten egg, Dijon mustard, chopped green onions, chopped parsley, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the Crab Cakes:

  • Divide the crab mixture into equal portions and shape them into crab cakes, about 1 inch thick.

Cook the Crab Cakes:

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Carefully place the crab cakes in the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 4-5 minutes per side.


  • Transfer the cooked crab cakes to a serving plate.

  • Garnish with additional chopped parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side.
