History
Founded with a single boat in 1996 by Jon Williams, the Atlantic Red Crab Co. is based in the historic port of New Bedford, MA. Through self-imposed regulation and routine assessment, the company quickly became renowned for its sustainable practices.
Product
Red Crab
Red crab has an average weight of one-pound, and is known for its delicious, sweet taste and natural red-tinted meat. Red crab is commercially harvested on the edge of the continental slope at depths of 400-900 meters between the Canadian Border and Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. Available live, fresh, or frozen, both whole and in clusters. No chemicals added and there is no pasteurization after taste. Our fresh product has a shelf life of 13 days from date of production and our frozen will last 2 years under proper refrigeration.

Jonah Crab
Prior to 2013 the New England Jonah crab fishery was completely unmanaged and considered a bi-catch to the American lobster fishery. In 2013 Atlantic Red Crab Company and several industry leaders collaborated with Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) to start the first Fishery improvement plan (FIP) for Jonah Crab. Jonah crab has an average weight between a pound and a half and a pound and a quarter. Jonah is known for its sweet Dungeness-like taste and firm white meat. Available live, fresh, or frozen, both whole cooked and in clusters. No chemicals added and there is no pasteurization after taste. Our fresh product has a shelf life of 13 days from date of production and our frozen will last 2 years under proper refrigeration
